JUMANJI: THE SNAPCHAT LEVEL
For the sequel to the Jumanji mega-hit, Sony promised everything to be bigger - the Rock’s biceps, the laughs, and even Danny DeVito (well, maybe not him). To help live up to blockbuster expectations, we brought the film to life with brand new Landmarker AR technology, a gamified selfie AR Lens with cast member support, and a custom red carpet Story Ad.
Introducing, Jumanji: The Snapchat Level.
Level 1: NYC AR Jungle
With brand new Landmarker AR technology, we were able to bring the Jumanji jungle to life in a whole new way. This new advancement maps major buildings around the world with computer vision, and enables our AR Lens team to build animated experiences on them - like a mandrill-filled jungle on NYC’s Flatiron Building.
Level 2: LA AR Desert
In LA, we used Landmarker AR tech to bring the film’s ostrich and dune buggy-filled scenes to the city’s famous Chinese Theater.
Level 3: The Cast Competes
Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillian battled for top score with our selfie AR Lens that brought Snapchatters into a Jumanji runner game.
Levels 4, 5, & 6: Paris, London, & India
Jumanji leveled up when we brought Landmarker AR tech global to the Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, and London’s Natural History Museum.
Level 7: The Red Carpet
On premiere night, we captured entrances and interviews from the film’s stars on the red carpet, and edited together a custom Story Ad.
We also matched scenes from the film with our Landmarker Lenses from around the globe for another Story Ad.
Last, we brought new AR Photoscene tech to the red carpet, bringing playful animations to a promotional standee.
