NFL: HIGHLIGHT REEL
Throughout the 2021 and 2022 NFL seasons, the pandemic emptied stadiums, closed sports bars, and canceled fan meet-ups. To get fans excited from home, the NFL partnered with Snapchat on a series of campaigns for the NFL Draft, Kickoff, and Super Bowl.
NFL AR Tunnel Run
It’s every football fan’s dream to run down an NFL tunnel and emerge into a stadium filled with screaming fans. To kickoff the 2020 season, we made this an (augmented) reality with a tunnel-run portal Lens experience. Using high-res images, we recreated Arrowhead Stadium in AR, and even used proximity tracking to increase crowd noise as fans stepped closer and closer to the field.
Super Bowl Shuffle
For SB LV, we used new 3D body tracking AR tech to help fans show off their dance moves with the stars from each team. We even got to use halftime performer The Weeknd’s popular track Blinding Lights.
The Pick is in
We invited fans onto the NFL Draft stage and recreated the iconic ‘pick is in’ moment in an AR Lens. Fans rocked gear for their favorite team, and personalization tech brought in each fan’s name and city for their draft profile.
To honor frontline workers, we created a Story Ad which featured hospital workers, delivery drivers, and teachers. Each took the mic and used the Lens to help make their pre-draft predictions.
Player and Team Engagement
Several players and teams such as Antonio Brown and the SF 49ers shared our filters and AR Lens on their Snap Stories, increasing overall reach and engagement.
